  21. Ok here is the deal."The weather is hot and so are the deals".
  22. thats the slogan Im presently trying to animate. The client
  23. wants an image of the sun and sky and moving clouds with a
  24. Flaming "HOT DEALS" loge coming out of the sun. Not to hard so
  25. far but her is the rub. He wants waves of heat moving in the
  26. foreground over the rest of the amination. Ive done some
  27. experiments with a subdivided plane in front of the camera.I am
  28. using the image map sequence from my fire (made for the fonts)
  29. as a displacement map and then making the plane transparent
  30. (refractive index 1.2). I turn trace refraction on and the
  31. resulting effect is ok but not convinceing. I was also treated
  32. to 14 minutes a frame rendering time. does anyone Know another
  33. way to do this?
  34. Also, behind my sun I used a lens flare effect to obtain
  35. streaks.
  36. It looked great until I turned on trace refraction. Now all of
  37. a sudden I dont only see streaks, I see the flare itself (ugly).
  38. so I turn on fade behind objects and lose all of it including
  39. the streaks I wanted. Is there any way to create just the
  40. streaks without the flare?
